I'm having trouble connecting to the internet
Laptop: ASUS Vivobook Go 15
Wi-Fi card: MediaTek MT7902 (Filogic 310)
Distro: CachyOS
Kernel: 7.0.5-1-CachyOS
Problem:
The Wi-Fi adapter is not detecting any networks at all. Network settings show no available Wi-Fi devices or networks. Internet only works through USB tethering from my phone.
What I already tried:
- Updated the whole system with pacman
- Installed linux-firmware
- Restarted NetworkManager
- Checked rfkill (no blocks)
- Tried reloading modules with modprobe
- Verified that the kernel is very recent
- Tried installing MT7902 DKMS drivers but couldn't find working AUR packages
Commands/results:
- "uname -r" → 7.0.5-1-CachyOS
- "ip link" only shows loopback and USB tethering
- "dmesg | grep -i mt79" gives permission/kernel buffer errors
Question:
Does the MT7902 currently work on CachyOS/Arch Linux?
Is there a working driver or firmware fix for this card?
