Hi guys! I am an admitted student (I took a gap year) who is about to make a commitment as to where to go to college, but before I make that decision I want to make sure I’m ending up at the right college. I’m looking to major in neuroscience here specifically for pre-health and was wondering how good is pre-health here. For people who are doing pre-health here, do you feel confident about post-grad applying for med schools and beyond? I’m just a bit nervous extracurricular activities and gaining volunteer hours, since Carlisle is a bit isolated (yes I know it’s near Harrisburg and a couple other spots but it’s not the same as major metro area). I did a tour here earlier this month with someone who is majoring in neuroscience and is pre-health and I did ask here some questions and she did seem to love Dickinson (I know a tour guide is supposed to sell the school to you, but still. She did give me her business card though to reach out, which I might also do, but I also want to ask Reddit to see if there is anyone else who could perhaps answer). I also love government so I’m going to minor in law, justice, and society but if I’m able to I perhaps want to double major in it. If any other pre-health has double majored, specifically in something non STEM, please let me know how that’s going.

My other choice for where to go is Lafayette College, which does seem to have a bit more options for hospitals and such since it’s in the Lehigh Valley with Bethlehem and Allentown and all the other colleges in that area and it was my top choice, however, I felt more comfortable in Carlisle after touring since the college is right in the middle of the town versus up on a hill. I’m just very nervous right now and don’t want to make the wrong choice, since time is running out and I don’t and I don’t want up of miserable.

Please, if anyone could answer that would be greatly appreciated. I know finals are coming up and people are busy, but even if I could get one answer I would be truly happy. Thank you 🙏
