Hello,
As a career changer in my late 30s I’m having a hard time finding the first actuarial job. I come from an insurance field. I have over five years in insurance operations and the total of seven years in insurance and annuities. I have passed two SOA exams. completed a short pricing project on Forage, and I have some technical skills (Excel, VBA, and R) I’ve been looking for an actuarial entry-level job since February and had a couple of interviews but no final offers. Are there any recent career changers out here? Can you share your success stories of how you managed to get your first actuarial job? Did you take an internship before that? I’m also wondering if the age is a factor.
Thank you in advance.
