Cymbalta Withdrawal-Advice Needed

I have been taking Cymbalta for 7 months and currently on 60mg but due to side effects, I asked my psychiatrist to reduce the dose and gradually stop it.

They decreased to 30mg for a week but I had really bad dizziness, fatigue, diarrhoea and anxiety. The Dr decided to go up to 40mg for a week and then back to 30mg.

I have been taking 40mg for one week and the fatigue, diarrhoea and physical symptoms of anxiety (palpitations and chest tightness) are really bad. I feel like I am on the verge of a panic attack the whole day.

I am due to go down to 30mg tomorrow but I am worried that these symptoms will continue and am quite scared what will happen and how long this will continue for.

I read that some people have been able to reduce their dose, with less withdrawal symptoms, by tapering to another antidepressant such as prozac-has anyone been successful?

I live in the UK so I'm not even sure if the psychiatrist would want to cross taper with another SSRI.

Any advice would be really helpful on how to reduce these symptoms.

I am thinking of contacting my psychiatrist to get their guidance but it takes a couple of days or up to a week for them to get back to me.

Tapering Cymbalta causing symptoms

I started Cymbalta in December of last year on 30mg and increased to 60mg this March however I began having side effects such as increased fatigue, severe sweating and weight gain.

I have decided to reduce my dose to 30mg for a week and a half now and have been experiencing dizziness, anxiety, palpitations, nausea and shortness of breath.

I do also have fibromyalgia but it's never been like this.

Is this expected despite not being on Cymbalta for too long?

I am worried it might get worse.

My doctor has recommended to go up to 40mg and see whether the symptoms would decrease and then reduce to 30mg again.

I have been on cymbalta for 5 months (30mg and now 60mg). The first two weeks of 30mg and the first two weeks of 60mg, I felt very euphoric. I was unable to sleep, had to constantly move and had so much energy and then that flat feeling hit where I didn't feel neither happy nor sad just empty. In the past my mood has mostly been depressed with rare highs.

Over the past month I have been experiencing really bad fatigue and I don't know if it can be attributed to Cymbalta. I am diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but usually the fatigue comes and goes and this time around despite resting I have been so tired, sleeping on average 10 hours which has never happened to me before.

What's worse is that in these 5 months I have gained 5kgs, despite monitoring what I eat and eating very healthy, making me overweight.

I recovered from an eating disorder and currently been diagnosed with body dysmorphia however I feel so down due to this weight gain and my body image is making me so depressed and the ED thoughts are slowly creeping back in.

I have been diagnosed with ADHD however currently not taking anything as the ADHD medication caused really bad restlessness along with depression and anxiety.

Has this happened to anyone-I am now thinking of slowly starting to taper and getting off Cymbalta.
