Flot it 2.0 - sucking in headspace

I ferment in kegs with a Flot it 2.0. I normally don’t have issues but this batch (4 oz dry hop loose in the keg) I’m drawing in CO2 or air as I pull from the liquid post using a picnic tap. If the float or tubing came loose I’d expect the line to sink and draw only beer. What could be causing this? Beer is flowing but lots of gas coming along with it. Thx

I often save yeast from primary fermentation for my beers and if they sit idle for a while I reinvigorate with a 500ml starter a day or 2 before I brew. I’ve been doing this for many years with great success.

I’d like to do it for my seltzer yeast but wondering what type of starter / wort I should use so the yeast is healthy going into the next seltzer. I know nutrients are key. Any help / advice is appreciated.
