2013 es350 non catching parking brake

How easy is it to fix the rear parking brake on an 2013 es350? My warranty company and dealership have stalled the parts ordering process and I am considering fixing it myself at this point or having an local shop do it.

Thanks.

Rough day yesterday

Post edited for confidentiality

I am a CCA and am looking for guidance.

Had a performance meeting with management and they mentioned the following things (listed below). Am past my 90 days.

In the meeting my sups discussed route times via scanner time print outs. Would be over on city rts by 1-3 / 2-4 hours on certain days. Thus the contract saying there is no standard for street time, I feel like this is unjustified. They also mentioned food drive day and printed those times out. Mgmt mentioned post office and NALC has some sort of agreement where the longer route times for food pickup are not justifiable reasons for going over time.

RT times they want: Under 8 hrs for full time city rts, consistently go over 8 hrs. Under 1 hour for Aux rt; spent 2:24 min on aux rt on Sat.

I also float/fill in around to other offices a lot, and have not been at my home office very much. I don't have some portions of the full time routes memorized which should be understandable from a carriers and mgmt perspective. That does not seem to be the case. They expect full casing capabilities within an hour and 8 hr rt deliveries.

Cell phone usage: I ONLY use my cell phone on my 10 min street break or when I need to contact my fellow carriers or if I have q's and a's. Mgmt does not like cell phone use, they claim it cannot be used at all because it adds to your stationary time. Any time wasting is no beuno for the post office.

Small things: Yesterday I ran out of notice slips for certified mail and packages. Called a carrier nearby to see if they had any, they did and brought me some. Got back to the office and got yelled at for 20 minutes of stationary time. Told them the reasoning and that I needed that slip to finish my route (leave proper notice), it was still an issue.

Attendance: Have been late more than a few times due to traffic, commute and alarms not going off. I am also a heavy sleeper so it is hard to wake up in the morning sometimes. Avg commute to work is 45+ minutes there and back. Commute with PO via sms on my phone. Mgmt claims my texts dont count for being late despite reaching out. They are not happy with my tardiness.

A few people around the workplace said I should look into a craft transfer or consider different employment. The PO said they would like me to succeed as well so kind of double edged information at this point.

What do I do at this point. I am looking forward to advice.

My unpopular opinion:

I have asked several people about these features and everyone seems to be for it. To each there own I guess. Personally I’ll be sticking with 2015 and older models.

The transportation act of 2021 snuck in a section mentioning new vehicle safety laws. By 2027, all new vehicles are expected to include in-cabin cameras, sensors, biometrics potentially and driver-monitoring systems powered by AI technology. These systems are being designed to track driver attention and behavior, raising concerns about privacy in your own vehicle.

Several articles online are saying this technology will go beyond basic safety features and needs, potentially including eye tracking, biometrics, and other advanced sensors. Automakers like Ford, Chevy have also filed patents related to in-cabin monitoring, data collection, and connected vehicle systems, which is currently fueling concerns about how this information might be used or shared. The privacy perspective IS important, are you okay with warrantless surveillance in your new vehicle?

These features are being introduced in the name of safety and convenience according to Congress and auto makers... I encourage new buyers to take a closer look at what you’re comfortable sacrificing privacy wise before buying a newer vehicle. Privacy is important to some; personally, I’m not interested in AI monitoring my driving or having surveillance technology inside my vehicle.

With the new e15 (Not e85) waiver, am I still okay to use 87 or should I consider putting premium in for the time being?

Ive been talking to a lot of friends; family about it and they are saying that e85 (flex fuel) will cause issues with degrading fuel lines, more clogs, and gas won't burn as well (poor performance). Not to mention small engines either, they will not run well on 15% eth.

Have a 2013 es-350.

Looking for input,

Thanks.

I own a 2013 lexus ES-350. I am not in a rush to sell by any means but Mercedes has been catching my eye more and more lately. What really gets me hooked on Mercedes is the luxury materials that are used in the cabin, and the body styles of the certain models.

What models and options/years would be best to look at without breaking the bank. I have a v6 engine in my Lexus and would probably want an V8 mercedes if I did buy one. My budget is probably about 15-20k, not looking to spend much more.

I am excited to hear feedback; fairly new to this thread.

Thanks.
