K2 plus Combo vs P2S w/ams
Hi !
I’m looking at two options for my second printer (I currently own a rooted Creality K1C) and would appreciate some feedback from owners.
The first option is a lightly used K2 plus Combo that my friend is selling for $800. It’s 8 months old (under warranty) with about 40 print hours, It comes with all the original parts as well as a good amount of extra nozzles, hot ends, build plates etc. I’ve run two multicolor test prints and it ran without issue. However I’m no stranger to Creality’s build quality issues, my K1C requires almost constant maintenance and modification, and I’ve read about issues with the K2 and CFS but when the printers are printing they print well. And I don’t mind doing a bit of tinkering, I like to work on things.
The second option is a new Bambu labs P2S w/AMS. $799 and free shipping. I’ve never owned a Bambu printer but the internet seems to love them. The smaller build area and lack of active chamber heating are the main downsides. And I have concerns over Bambu Labs “authorization control” and software restrictions, I don’t like buying a product that can be so easily controlled. But it may end up being a non-issue.
I mainly print petg-cf but have been testing with ASA/ABS filaments and will most likely be printing a lot of CF/GF filled ASA in the future.
THANKS
