Can someone educate me on Prop/transmissions ratios. Been going crazy reading about this and still can’t decide concrete. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

originally purchased to me it had Blown twin Detroit 8.2’s and twin disc mg502 (1.54:1 ratio) 17x22 props. 1.25 shafts.
It’s getting x2 Cummins 6BTA 300hp and now looking at maybe getting zf220a for ease of servicing and reliability.
Should I stay around 1.54 ratio? What size props should I go with? I know hull to propeller clearance is a must as well and may be a limiting factor. Would it be good to upgrade shaft size as well?
