So, I've seen this episode (and all the episodes) a zillion times.
However, in my latest rewatch, I realized that I've been inserting a dirty joke for YEARS where none actually exists. 😳
Lorelai and Sookie come in the check on space for the funeral and the front foyer is littered with flowers. Emily is sitting in her robe, smoking, and drinking. She tells Lorelai that she gave the maid the day off since, "Nothing is happening here."
Lorelai responds with, "I think every delivery boy in town would beg to differ."
For YEARS, I've thought this was a joke about how Emily was answering the door in her robe and the delivery guys were getting a show. I just now realized it's literally only because they all have to keep coming to the house to deliver the flowers.
My god, am I an idiot. 🤣
