IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi is the first international campus of IIT Delhi.
It started offering MTech in Energy Transition and Sustainability in 2024. From AY 2026-27, it is starting to offer MTech in Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS).
Applications are open. Note that they don't accept GATE scores afaik. Nvm, check the details in the link below.

Couldn't sit in on-campus placements (Phase-1) due to extreme medical conditions. Now, when I'm fine, phase-2 placements are pathetic and mostly teaching roles are coming. Even if tech roles (SDE/Data Scientist, AI Engineer) are coming, no communication by company when will the test be there, basically, most companies have just registered on the OCS portal and no further activity is there since months.
I'm looking for urgent job opportunities in SDE/Data Scientist roles. Any potential recruiters here ? My CGPA is 8+ and I can share my resume over DM to potential true recruiters with a JD. Thanks!

When will any mail or offers be sent through IIT BTech category ?

Hi everyone. I'm new to this sub. I'm a BTech Non-Circuital final year student at IIT Delhi. After my 3rd year AI intern in a mid-level startup (7th sem about to start in few days), many people (my family too) advised me to do a 2-year MTech as well. My family said to me that, if I feel like doing a MTech in CS or AI (as I was interested in that domain), I can surely go for that as I had no pressure of earning at an age of 22. I could start at 24 as well.
I started researching about MTech programs (asked college seniors) and some guys in the industry too. Finally, I decided to go for a MTech, either in CS or AI (AI being the first preference). I decided not to go abroad for a masters' as told by my senior working in Meta in NY. He told me that you can do it in India also. And I was also very reluctant to leave my family and go foreign.
Then, just before my 7th sem started, I started preparing for GATE (entrance exam to get MTech). I had knowledge on C Programming, DS Algo, etc. and aimed to study all the core CS subjects from youtube playlists and attempt GATE mocks and PYQs by end of 8th sem and till February 2026 (GATE exam month).
Soon after starting GATE prep, I came across an IIT BTech category, in which candidates with BTech in IITs with CGPA > 8 can apply to MTech in IITs without GATE score!! There would be written test and/or interview by that department.
I was happy as now I prepared for GATE CS as a backup option. I had IIT BTech category mode too. My CGPA was around 8.2
Note that in 7th and 8th sem, I skipped sitting in on-campus placements at IITD as I had made my mind for MTech completely - no if and but.
Fast forward to result of GATE CS, I got a score of around 620 and a rank of around 2800. I felt this is very bad because of the competition nowadays. However, without being from a circuital and CS branch and with preparation alongside tough IITD academics, I scored 600+ in first attempt - much better than many others.
I decided not to use this GATE rank as I wouldn't get top IITs and being a BTech from IIT Delhi, it makes no sense to pursue MTech from a college with brand value / tag < IITD.
So, I decided to use IIT BTech category. I applied to IISc MTech AI and MTech CDS through CFTI mode, IIT Madras MTech DSAI, IIT Delhi MTech CSE and MTech AI.
Note that I applied to only 2-year MTech programs in only these colleges. Later, I felt that I need a backup option too (as I don't have any job offer). So, in addition to above, I also applied in IIT Hyderabad MTech CSE and IIT Roorkee MTech DS, all through IIT BTech category.
Now, the thing is that I wasn't shortlisted by IISc owing to my low CGPA. They don't check the status of BTech college of the applying applicant - just the CGPA. Now, IIT Delhi CS department invited me for an online interview - which I did good - but still they didn't shortlist me (probably because of my non-circuital branch). I faced two setbacks - No IISc, No IIT Delhi MTech CSE. Now, one more setback was waiting for me - IIT Hyderabad MTech CSE dept. recently on 7 May posted, "Due to many IIT BTech applications this year, we're raising the criteria to 8.5+ candidates only". So, one of my backup options also gone.
Now, I'm only left with IIT Delhi MTech AI and IIT Roorkee MTech DS. There's no test or interview in IIT Roorkee. However, IIT Delhi MTech AI had a test on May 10 (yes today!). I prepared diligently for the test and gave it today. It was easy and went well. But, I'm not sure of getting shortlisted since the criteria for selection in IIT Delhi MTech AI is 70% CGPA + 30% test performance - Now, many students / working professionals apply from lower IITs with much higher CGPA, so again my chances are less in IIT Delhi AI too.
Both IIT Delhi AI and IIT Roorkee DS will release their offers in the month of June. I'm uncertain on both of them. I desperately need to get an offer from IIT Delhi AI, as going to IIT Roorkee for MTech is not good (as my BTech college is better - too much downgrade - as said by my senior).
Now, in case I don't get an offer at IIT Delhi AI, I'll be left wounded - with no job offer (I didn't sit in placements genuinely - not that I wasn't allowed - I was having 8+ CGPA with no backlogs with an under 8 department rank as well) and if (hopefully not) no MTech offer, what will I f*cking do now ?????

Are there mid-tier startups still hiring for 2026 grads? I want a job as a backup option.
