Wheel bearing keeps failing
Car: 07 Civic LX (standard)
For context, I replaced entire knuckle last summer because the wheel bearing was bad when I got the car.
I ver tightened the axel nut, eventually replaced the CV axel and nut, but kept the same hub and bearing.
Fast forward almost a year later to today, wheel bearing goes bad quick in a matter of one week after hitting some terrible potholes.
I go to remove the knuckle to inspect, and as i’m taking off the tire, the axel nut falls off. The wheel bearing ended up being halfway one, ABS sensor came on the day before.
I get new bearing replaced in the hub and out the knuckle assembly back together. Car drives fine for one day.
Long commute to work I get the same grinding, squeaking sounds especially when turning. I am going to check if the axel nut is loose and replace it if it is. If my wheel bearing is bad yet again, what could be the problem? Also, my tire tread on this tire is uneven compared to my other tires. Like balding on the outside of the tire.
I bought the knuckle, axel, brakes and rotors off RocAuto last summer.
