My Sheltie and I have enjoyed the camping off-season (we both love the cold). The short trip I'm taking today will likely be the last before late fall. I've discovered, however, she is a magnet for ticks...even while on her NextGard. In Alaska, we had no ticks, so I'm worried about the consequences -- but not enough to avoid the fun! Just in case we end up doing another trip or two in spring/summer, what do yall do with all the fur and preventing/killing ticks?

Warning: Cute Sheltie pics ahead!

My Sheltie will cuddle upon request (she is trained to). But she doesn’t normally like to on her own time for more than a few minutes. This weekend we’re camping, and it’s in the low 40s. I pushed off a heated mattress pad around 2am…and she came over and has been snuggling ever since. 😋
