Can an actual mathematician look over this attempt to prove a 3x3 magic square of perfect squares is impossible?
I'm a mechanical engineer and it's been years since I took linear algebra. I'm fairly certain that the approach here, of generating 9 equations with only 9 variables and placing those into a matrix to then find the nullspace is correct. But I'd really appreciate it if someone could double-check my work and point it out if I messed up somehow.
