help me find a novel!!

So, recently I wanted to reread some stories I haven't read in a while (I'm looking for a way to read MISVIL since I lost the other site I read it on..) but there's ONE specific story I read a while back... but I forgot the name!!!!
GENERAL SYNOPSIS:
Initially the story goes as the MC who is a general and wants to become emperor, but has to go through ML and be on his "good side" because not only does ML work for the currently emperor, but he is close friends with him. So randomly (this part made me laugh!) he pretends to be gay (bro does not care what people think) and tries to swoon the ML. Then they go on some adventures together and uncover a lot about their government and how corrupt/neglected it is. Throughout, MC realizes he really loves ML but ML is hesitant for certain reasons, so they basically just have a lil thing going on. But MC is smitten.
The story contains some level of cultivation, but not to a super high degree. It's mostly historical, but definitely cultivation sprinkled in from what I remember.
SPOILERS FOR THE END:
Eventually, MC finds a way to become Emperor and goes to war with an enemy, and tells ML that he will need to sacrifice himself. ML basically realizes he can't be without him so he goes out into the battlefield without MC knowing--preparing to die in his steed. MC reaches ML just in time before he was almost killed-- and he confronts ML. Then its all cuteness and sweetness after that 🥺
OVERALL:
I really enjoyed this story, as it has a nice yearning aspect to the story. And the characters are respectful towards one another, I do wish the story was a bit longer. I wanted to revisit it. So after this very vague explanation, I hope someone has an answer! If not, can someone at least recommend where I can reread MISVIL? 😅
