This is a warning for anyone booking “workshops” via BookMyShow.
I booked and prepaid for a Clay Trinket Tray Workshop scheduled on April 18 at Third Wave Coffee, Panchkula.
I showed up on time. There was no workshop, no host, no setup- literally nothing.
The café staff had zero information about any such event. They shared the organizers’ contacts, and when I called them, the response was shocking:
They said they “weren’t even sure if anyone had booked the session.”
Then why was a paid event listed live on BookMyShow?
After that came a series of excuses:
“The instructor met with an accident”
“Internal miscommunication”
“We’ll refund you soon”
It has now been over 2 weeks, and:
One organizer (Aryan, Contact: +91 7906716139) has blocked me
The other (Akshay, Contact: +91 9891209319) keeps claiming “refund has been processed” but refuses to provide any proof, transaction ID, or confirmation
Messages are being ignored. At this point, this is not miscommunication, this is complete lack of accountability and possibly fraud-level negligence.
I’m sharing this so others can be cautious while booking such “workshops” listed on platforms. Just because it’s on BookMyShow doesn’t guarantee the organizer is reliable.
If anyone has faced something similar or knows how to escalate this effectively (consumer complaint, legal route, etc.), please let me know.
Also tagging this as a warning- please verify organizers before booking these kinds of events.
