I have been using AirBnb from when it was people renting out their apartments for extra cash. I had no problem cleaning up after myself, taking out the trash, leaving the place as good as I found it.

But I am tired of hosts. I've been trying to get a place for several weeks, but one host tells me that he can't host me because "it would cause a gap". What does that even mean? And why is the place listed as open for my dates then? Not on this trip, but I've had 2 hosts cancel me, then repost a week later for 50% more, I guess because the plumber finished up faster than originally thought and the wifi DID work after all.

Another host cancelled because the owner is now selling. At this point, I'm likely to cancel my whole trip.

Yes, the AirBnb experience helps me to feel like a local, I can spend a lot of time in one place, have a kitchen and washing machine, but honestly, the corporate attitude of so many 'hosts', and the "I really don't care, do you?" makes AirBnb more of a hassle than a hotel or regular corporate apartment.

Thanks for letting me rant. But so much on these forums is about how awful guests are, and they are, but same goes for hosts. I've had some really good ones, but some of you ruin it for the rest. And now, I'm much less likely to use AirBnb for my stays of a week or more.
