I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy on March 19. Had my baby March 15. Had been paying short term disability benefits since June and got moved to part time due to business needs in October. I did not know that moving to part time would disqualify me from receiving STD benefits. The benefits never stopped coming out of my paycheck even after being moved to PT. Fast forward I filed a short term disability claim that got denied due to not working 30+ hours a week. Is there anything worth doing ? I ask here because I don’t know how the bankruptcy would affect me since I filed BK AFTER my claim for STD.
