USB Connectivity with Google Play Services Installed
Hi all, creating a post because I can't see anyone discussing my specific issue/observation.
I run GOS with a few profiles, but my primary ones completely avoid Google. One is completely open-source and the other uses apps from Aurora which don't require Google. Having come from stock Android I also run a couple of profiles with Google to access maps and banking etc.
I'm pretty comfortable using USB to establish a file transfer connection with my laptop to backup photos etc. So I know this works. Though weirdly it only works on the profiles that don't have Google installed. Does this mean Google Play Services modifies this option in the settings menu?
I strongly suspect it does this in attempt to force users to use their highly irritating "cloud" backup services. I remember that enshitified "feature" creeping in on my old stock Android Pixel 5. I'm surprised GOS allows this.
Any thoughts? Am I doing something coincidentally stupid?
