Hi there, my nephew made his first batch of mead from wild-caught yeast, and it was pretty good! He’s laid away his first 12-month batch and looking into different recipes etc.

What would be a nice gift to support his experimentation? I was going to get him some demijohns etc, but wanted to warm it up with some specialised honey, different yeast strains etc? A friend who is a brewer suggested special honey would be wasted in the fermentation process, so not so sure now. Would anyone have any suggestions? I’m not opposed to buying more specialised equipment, but I’m not sure if that’s a bit premature.

Edit: THANK YOU! Great suggestions everyone. 🐝
