Basement's new record Wired
What's everyones thoughts on Wired so far?
Basement dropped their new album Wired recently after like a 7+ year gap between their last record Beside Myself.
I have been a massive fan and follower of Basement since their songs about the weather EP. They always will have a special place in my heart for consistently touring Australia throughout the years and showing us so much love.
They are an amazing live band. Listening to them always transports me back to being 19 years old again...jumping on my mates head and stage diving lol.
I have liked all of their albums and don't think they have a bad record....but like most fans my favourites are i wish i could stay here and colourmeinkindness.
This new one though "Wired" has me a little conflicted. I don't love it on first listen unlike their previous works and there are some weird production choices on here. The vocals sound really weird which is such a shame for me as I think this was one of their biggest strengths on the last albums.
It's not a bad album and I think I just need it to sit with me a bit longer - but it's not really what I expected after the long wait. It will sound better live I'm sure without all the weird vocal production choices.
So far for me its my least favourite basement album but not a bad album at all. 6.5/10 or something like that.
