The other day, as I was writing a dues check to the mail handlers union, an organization I'm not even in, but still benefit more from than my own union, it occurred to me- Why isn't natca negotiating to get us our own insurance plan?

We already have a benefits committee, instead of negotiating the next 39.99% credit card offer for us, they could be working on this.

We have to be in pretty good health to get this job, with a laundry list of disqualifying conditions, and we have to stay in pretty good health as well. ATCs should have the cheapest health insurance in the country. Natca could even subsidize it for members.

I understand that it's not the 40% pay raise we SHOULD be getting right now, but it's an interim way for natca to put more money in our pockets outside of contract negotiations.
