Lenovo Legion 5 unstable
Hi fellow humans, I'm currently trying to fix my brother-in-law laptop (Lenovo Legion 5-15ACH6H) but it seems I can't manage to pinpoint what is the source of the problem by myself. At first it seemed like it didn't want to boot at all. After some testing (I will list what I tried below) it now boots but sometimes crash on the loading of windows and sometimes crash a short while after using windows. I'm the family geek but have no real formation in electronics nor computer science.
Here is all I tested so far (with more or less success) :
-CMOS battery (reads 3.2 V) -Disconnecting battery and booting only w/ original 300W charger -disconnecting both Li-battery and CMOS battery for a while then trying to boot -Each ram (alone) on each slot -> seemed to fix the "not booting at all" problem. -booting without SSD -> got to BIOS without issue -booting only with one SSD -> got to windows -some variations of some configurations above
The most stable I got was with 1 RAM and 1 SSD running without battery, directly plugged in. It ran for a while before I decided to reboot it with one more RAM. Then it felt like it crashed randomly and I couldn't manage to make it as stable as it was.
I saw that these laptops tend to have a problem with the cpu. Could it be the case with this one ? How could I make sure of it ?
Do you have any idea on what I could do to pinpoint the culprit and save this laptop ?
I'm still not 100% convinced it is software or hardware...
TLDR : Laptop isn't stable on windows and crashes, sometimes not even booting. Tested some things but now I ran out of ideas. Any help welcome :)
