I am sitting here in the dayroom trying to put in a simple leave request for my sisters wedding and I have been staring at the spinning blue circle of death for forty minutes. Every time I think the page is finally loading it just kicks me back to the login screen or gives me some cryptic error about my credentials not being authorized for the specific action. I am a 12Y (Geospatial Engineer) so I deal with software that actually works for a living but this green suit garbage is on another level of incompetence.

The best part is that my NCO told me I have to have the request approved by Monday or I am stuck doing detail for the change of command ceremony. How am I supposed to get anything approved when the portal looks like it belongs on a Windows 95 desktop? I tried clearing my cache and using three different browsers but the system just hates me personally. I even tried using the shitty government computer in the library but that thing is even slower than the network.

Last month it took me two weeks just to update my emergency contact info because the dropdown menus kept disappearing whenever I moved my mouse. It is 2026 and we are supposed to be the most advanced fighting force on the planet but we cant even build a website that lets a soldier take five days off without a mental breakdown. I swear the Army buys the cheapest possible contract from some tech firm that has never actually seen a user interface before.

I finally managed to click the submit button and the whole screen just went white . No confirmation email no notification nothing. Now I am just sitting here wondering if my request is actually in the system or if it just vanished into the digital void. If I miss this wedding because some server in Virginia decided to take a nap I am going to lose my mind. I would honestly rather fill out five copies of the old DA 31 by hand than deal with this automated nightmare for one more second.

I guess I will just keep refreshing the page until my eyes bleed or the barracks Wi-Fi finally gives up the ghost. At least the vending machine in the hall is working today so I have some stale chips to keep me company during this hostage situation.
