I know this topic has been beat to death, but I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing what I just got told.
I’ve been monitoring some corrosion on the doors on my JTR, checking in with the body shop at my Jeep dealer every time I get the oil changed to see if they think it’s at the point where we could submit it. Yesterday when I was in, they told me that Stellantis has changed their policy and is no longer doing panel replacement - claiming even doors are on back order and that they can’t even get any if they wanted to. According to them, there’s a new TSB that says corrosion is supposed to just be “repaired”, through sanding, repainting, and sealing - not panel replacement.
Put a phone call in to Jeep Wave and the customer service rep told me to have them document it and send it in to determine if it would be panel replacement. I feel like I’m getting real mixed messages here - granted the rep I talked to didn’t seem like she quite grasped my question about panel replacement and was talking in circles.
Anyone else experienced this? Or have any methods to hopefully get some leverage to make sure Jeep honors the corrosion warranty? I’m supposed to be covered by it until January of 2027 so I want to try to get it if I can. Thanks in advance!
