I just preordered the Hot Toys ROTS Anakin Skywalker (MMS839) figure and I’m pretty new to the hobby, so I’m trying to learn as much as I can.
One thing I keep seeing people talk about is how the pleather parts (like the belt, tabards, gloves, etc.) tend to crack and fall apart over time. I definitely don’t want that happening, especially with a figure like this.
I’ve also seen people recommend applying products to try and preserve the pleather, but honestly at this price point I feel like that shouldn’t really be necessary. I’d rather just upgrade to proper leather pieces and not have to worry about it long-term.
So I wanted to ask:
Where do you guys get real leather replacements for stuff like belts, tunics, or straps?
Any trusted customizers, Etsy shops, or IG pages you’d recommend?
Is it something you should replace right away or only once the pleather starts going?
I don’t mind paying extra if it means preserving the figure long-term. I’d rather do it right the first time.
