I HAVE AN IDEA. It's been an ongoing thing here of people in the Boston area complaining about getting to and from Lowell
A lot of people are blaming the venue or the city, but the problem isn't the distance, it’s the logistics. Spending 45 minutes just to get out of the parking garage or being stuck in Lowell gridlock after the final whistle is enough to make anyone think twice about coming back.
We don't need new tracks or millions in infrastructure to fix this. We need a coordinated effort between the LRTA and the MBTA using the buses and trains we already have.
Heres my plan
- At the start of the 3rd period, the LRTA stages 4–5 buses directly at the Tsongas. The second the game ends, these buses run a non-stop express shuttle straight to Gallagher Terminal.
- We get the T to run a special-event train for Fleet games. The train to North Station waits at the platform until the shuttles get there.
- You walk out of the Tsongas, hop on a bus, and you’re on a train home in like 10 minutes
If we want the Fleet to thrive, the state needs to stop treating the LRTA and MBTA like two separate planets. If fans from the Boston area knew they had a guaranteed quick and easy ride home, those empty seats would vanish.
The LRTA and MBTA are state-funded and state-overseen. Our local State Reps and Senators need to hear that we want this coordination now.

What to say (Copy/Paste or write your own):
I am a constituent of yours and a fan of the Boston Fleet. Recent attendance at the Tsongas Center has suffered due to poor transportation planning. I am asking you to work with MassDOT to coordinate a 'Special Event Pulse' between the LRTA and MBTA. We need dedicated express shuttles from the venue to the Lowell Station and a coordinated train for the Commuter Rail, similar to the special event trains for Gillette. This uses existing assets to support our local economy and women’s professional sports. Please help us get Lowell moving on game days.
Let’s get loud about this. The Fleet deserve a full house every single night
