Hey everyone,

I am planning a trip in Türkiye and I’m trying to understand how prayer times work.

I came across this official site from Diyanet:
https://namazvakitleri.diyanet.gov.tr/

A few questions:

  • Do all mosques follow these exact times?
  • Are these the times when the adhan is called, or are they the actual fard prayer times (iqamah / jama‘ah)?
  • For Jumu‘ah, does the khutbah start exactly at Dhuhr time listed there, or is there a fixed earlier/later schedule that mosques follow?
  • Are there mosques which deliver sermons in english ?

Would appreciate insights from locals or anyone familiar with how it works on the ground.

Thanks!

Family road trip in a standard rental (no 4WD), leaving morning of January 1st. I should mention I'm a tourist from a tropical island — I have zero experience driving in cold, icy, or even just temperate winter conditions, so I'm being extra cautious about this.

I've read that the Seydişehir/Taurus route can be risky in winter due to icy mountain passes, so I've decided to go via the Beyşehir lakes road instead.

What I need help with is the exact highway/road numbers to follow. I don't fully trust Google Maps for this — it tends to suggest the shortest route rather than the safest one, and I'd rather stick to the main well-maintained roads even if it adds time.

Has anyone done Konya → Beyşehir → Isparta → Antalya in winter and can recommend the specific roads to follow (and any to avoid)? Thanks!
