COPE health scholar+server job or paid patient tech with no server job.

I just graduated with my biology degree from CSULB and my plan was to continue my server job along with several volunteer opportunities, one of which is being a cope health scholar. It provides direct patient care and seems like a great program.

However, I was recently offered a position to be a patient tech for a pre and post op unit. With close connections to a nurse there who basically said they would take me under their wing and teach me more than what is usually expected of the role. I also really enjoy the moral of the hospital and have heard great things about working there. I can really see myself working there post grad.

My concern is the financial loss. By doing cope, I can continue to work as a server with good money and low hours compared to the tech job which is more of a commitment and less pay, but great experience.

Please give thoughts and opinions.
