Public safety notice about local radqueer activism in Seattle
Seattle residents, especially parents, teachers, youth workers, and anyone involved in child or teen spaces, should be aware of Ally Kotetsu, a Seattle-based radqueer activist connected to Beyond the Plus.
Kotetsu has publicly described himself with labels including “MAP,” “youthlib,” “transage 16,” “permateen,” and “transrace Japanese.” He has also publicly associated himself with radqueer activism and paraphilia-inclusive spaces.
Beyond the Plus described itself in its own public materials as a group for people “outside the mainstream definition of queer,” including “paraphiles,” “people with transidentities,” and “radqueers.”
For context, “radqueer” is an ideology that can include support for controversial identities and paraphilia-based labels, including MAPs, zoophiles, “transage,” “transrace,” and “transabled.”
“Youthlib,” or “youth liberation,” can refer generally to youth autonomy. But when it appears alongside MAP/radqueer activism, it raises obvious concerns about attempts to blur adult-child boundaries.
