2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD Update
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice. I’m a new diesel owner and just checked out a truck for $3,500. I’ve attached photos of the engine and exhaust for you guys to take a look at.
Here’s the rundown:
The Good: It runs well and was being driven daily until very recently.
The Bad: There’s a visible oil leak that has me a bit concerned.
The Codes: I had them read, and the only thing popping up is for a thermostat.
The Extras: It comes with a topper that I don’t really want; I’m planning on selling that once I pay the truck off.
The Main Concern: My biggest worry is whether it’ll pass emissions. The owner claims it has passed in previous years, but I’m always a bit skeptical.
For the price, I feel like I shouldn’t pass this up, but I don't want to get burned. Does this seem like a solid deal, or am I walking into a nightmare with that leak?
