I finally worked my last two weeks in red and khaki. I had some really good times, but the direction the company has leaned towards when it comes to accountability we're supposed to push down as leads made me reevaluate how my morals connect with Target's mission - and they did not, in fact, align. I cannot have a performance convo just because "no one is perfect" when my team truly busted it out and always tried their best.

I'll say this as a 20 year vet - advocate for yourself and have a healthy work-life balance. Take that vacation, call in on occasion when your mental health is low. I was a good solider, had excellent attendance, excellent metrics, and my STL still didn't speak to me for my last two weeks and then decided to call out my leaving in a workload planning meeting in a hostile manner.

Point is, as much as I used to love my job and working for a company that had higher values than our competitors - times have changed. The soul is gone.

I'm actually not angry at my store, but sad about what it became - and I'm sure many of you long timers are feeling the same way.
