Context: I have owned a gen 1 ipad mini, iPod touch 4th gen (back in the days )

Can anyone help which iphone model I should start with?

My last iphone was way back in 2016...which was an iphone 6s before it got stolen, until then I stuck with android.

I was considering getting a credit card to get the latest iPhone 17e for 24 mos installments or should I start fresh with older ones starting from the iphone 13 series regardless if it's pre-owned or b new.
