I've been here for about a decade. Being in this area is absolutely draining me. I'll be having a great day and either I get yelled at for a minor infraction (e.g., existing in the same space as other people in public areas) or witness someone getting yelled at for the same thing. My nervous system is completely shot from it. In the last few days alone I've been yelled at (and I mean screamed at) while in a crosswalk by a bicyclist claiming that I was "trying to get him pulled over by a cop"?????, seen someone come out of their house to measure with a ruler how far away someone was parked from their driveway, had someone let out the most insane groan/scoff inches from me in Pemberton Farms for (again, existing in the same space as him.. god forbid), have seen multiple people in screaming matches, have witnessed a dog fight because of people not feeling like they need to keep their "well behaved" dog on a leash, and don't get me started on how many near car accidents/bike accidents at every turn. I feel like I'm constantly being surveilled, judged, and belittled. It breaks my heart because Cambridge really is a lovely place. Am I the only one who experiences Cambridge this way?
