Where to buy used telescopes in Toronto? (besides fb marketplace/Kijiji)
Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, and eBay have very sparse listings. Sometimes I saw good deals, but at the moment I couldn't afford what I wanted (a 6-8 inch Dobsonian for $400-600).
New telescopes at retail are crazy expensive. The only one I could afford is the Heritage 150p, but I would prefer a closed-tube dob.
I made an account on Cloudy Nights to view their classifieds section, and after getting banned, I was able to see listings, but almost none were found in Toronto. I can't filter by location, I just search for Toronto and found older listings that were already sold.
Khan's scope has a used catalog, but Dobsonians rarely come up. So, after all this, I'm wondering whether there's another way to buy used scopes, since the current options don't exactly have what I want.
Might just pull the trigger on the Heritage 150p if, after a couple of months, no deals pop up. Hopefully, it at least goes on sale by then, but I was curious: for those who live in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, where have you guys bought your used telescopes aside from Facebook and Kijiji, or have you found deals on Cloudy Nights that were actually near you?
