Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. My boyfriend and I have a rescue pigeon named Amele. We've had her for about a year and a half. She's been great and in good health. All day today she was fine and chatty as usual, cooing and flying around following us through the house. However, about an hour ago after she finished eating, she flew over and started acting strange. She wouldn't keep her beak closed. We grew worried fast, thinking she might be choking. There was water on her beak like she drank some of her water too. I have two videos that show what she's doing. The thing is though, she's also acting about 97% normal. Squinting, she was cooing back and forth with my boyfriend, she readily ate a few tiny peanuts out of his hand, she drank a little water without hesitation, and she's still flying from place to place and trying to eat seeds. We put both away for now. She's scavenging for spare seeds on the carpet. I feel encouraged that she's mostly acting normal, but we've never seen her do this mouth motion and keep her beak open while preening. I have a videos that display her doing what I'm trying to describe. Has anyone seen this and know what might be bothering her? Also, we opened her mouth gently and looked for yellow anywhere and didn't see anything. Google said check for canker or bad smells by her beak, but we didn't notice either. She's not constantly doing it, but we're nervous. She's energetic right now and looking for seeds. Any help is extremely appreciated.
