OS draining turned off phone? (Even replaced battery)

Hi everyone,

TL;DR:

The Issue:

OP Nord 2T drains from 100 to 0% in a single day. This extreme drain occurs under all conditions:

  • Old battery, brand-new battery all the same
  • When turned on but with screen off
  • When is completely powered off
  • After a factory reset (both with and without logging into a Google account)
  • With the SIM card removed and all settings, GPS, BT and Wi-Fi disabled

Battery settings don't show any specific app consuming all the power

The replacement battery had 55 % when received (was 2-3 weeks in transit, so the new battery itself seems fine)

My Question: What could be causing this, and how can I fix it? HELP!

Long Version:

I've had my OnePlus Nord 2T for over 4 years. The battery degraded over time, but that was expected, and in the end survived maximum of a day when used. I eventually upgraded to OP 13 and stored the Nord 2T on a shelf, completely powered off with about a 50% charge.

A few weeks later, I took it out to back up my photos, but it was completely dead and wouldn't even turn on. This seemed weird for a powered-off device. Over the next few days while I was moving my files, the phone consistently drained from 100% to 0% within a single day. This happened whether it was turned on but idle (with most settings off and no SIM), or completely powered down. I finally did a factory reset, but the issue persisted. I assumed the battery was simply dead and decided to replace it.

I ordered a new battery. When it arrived after 2-3 weeks in the mail, it was at 55% - meaning the standalone battery holds a charge perfectly fine. I installed it, fully discharged it, and then charged it to 100% to calibrate it. I left it sitting on my desk, but when I picked it up the next day to install some apps, it was completely dead again. I charged it back up, turned it completely off, let it sit, and by the next day, it was dead once more. How could it survive the weeks in transit when now, not even 2 weeks after it dies after a day turned off???

The new battery charges much quicker, so I don't believe it's the problem.

To reiterate, the phone currently has all connectivity features disabled, no SIM card, and was factory reset without even logging into a Google account.

At this point, I suspect it might be an OS. Is there a way flash the Nord 2T with the official OxygenOS? Does anyone know what else could be causing this or have any potential fixes?
