Hey all, my mom recently paid a family member to detail her car. She has a 2022 Ford Explorer for reference. They charged her $430 for all of the work. First off, I feel this is expensive for work done by a few teenagers who have supposedly invested “thousands of dollars” into equipment and then did what I think is an unacceptable job for that price. Here are some pictures. Do I have completely unrealistic expectations or is this ridiculous?
Notes: the stuff on the green upholstery is splash from a drink above a cupholder. And I’ll admit the gas cap is very meticulous of me to expect, but I’d have liked to see them at least wipe it down for this price. Also, all the specks I’ve taken pictures of on the black plastic areas of the car are NOT scuffs, but rather areas they simply didn’t clean or just looked over.
My mom feels like it’s not that bad, but I am honestly quite upset and feel they ripped her off. Ultimately it’s her car though, but I wanted to get some more opinions.
EDIT: Thanks guys for all the comments. I’ve decided to just let it go. Does it really really suck? Yes. But is it worth ending/damaging a relationship? No. Though I will not recommend them to anyone nor will we be using them again.
