Less than a year with Lone Peak 9…

Bought in august of last year. I wear these things everyday for everything, as you would any normal pair of shoes. I do moderate hiking, and live in Wisconsin so I barely wore these things during the winter.

Giant hole on both of my shoes around where the toe box is, it’s not from them being too small, just happens to be where it bends. Inside is all getting ripped up from just putting them on and off.

Spent about $100 on these things, had great hopes for them and like the way they looked. But, the build quality is just bad. I am very sad about this and am already looking to get new shoes.

Anyone have any recommendations? I would love shoes with zero drop and the wide toe box. I like trail runners as they aren’t water proof and let my feet breath. I would ideally like a $100-$150 pair of shoes to last about 5 years. Hell - even just one year!

Heed my warning, get other shoes, these things DO NOT last.

EDIT

You guys are okay with spending $100 and getting 6 months of use out of them? Maybe i’m the odd one out, but how is that acceptable??
Very clearly i am in the wrong here, but you guys seem to know what you’re talking about. What shoe do you recommend I get?

EDIT EDIT
Very clearly I am in the wrong lol. I did not realize running shoes are only supposed to last 6 months or so (at best). I am not a runner, I hike, so was very surprised at how quickly these things started to deteriorate. I am used to spending less for much longer lasting shoes. When doing my research originally I wanted light shoes that weren’t waterproof and the Altras seemed great. I am just baffled at how everyone seems okay with spending $100 every 4-6 months, i may just be a broke college student but something about that seems wrong. I am sorry to upset everyone, really just was sad at how quickly these shoes fell apart and wish I had seen a post like this before I had purchased them.

anyhoo, sorry for the controversy! I am in the wrong, have a good day everyone :)
