This might not be the right sub for this, but it is an issue I’m sure many homeowners experience.
Anyone ever had to remove a skunk that’s taken up residence under a shed? I’m going to attempt trapping and relocating to a rural area before sealing off the space. I’ve also read about using “humane” options like flooding the space with a hose or putting a light and radio (!?) in the hole will encourage them to relocate. Anyone have success with this?
I haven’t 100% confirmed that I’m dealing with a skunk. Just the most logical assumption for the region I live in, as racoons are rare and possums don’t live here.
It’s definitely nocturnal as my dog (prey driven hunting breed) takes notice in the mornings and evenings. He goes crazy trying to dig under there and barking at whatever it is. Was hoping the dog would be enough to encourage relocation, but it’s been a few days, so I’m putting a trap out tonight. Hope this works before he gets sprayed.
