I won't deny feeling a smidge of disappointment at finding out that Taigen isn't with for the beginning of Mizu's next chapter, BUT I also find myself being *excited* for their eventual reunion. The space gives each room to grow & mayhaps truly see what's going on around them. For Mizu it will be a culture shock, hopefully helping her find ways to love herself AND new sword techniques. For Taigen, watching someone close to him, Akemi, change in a way that I personally think is comparable to Mizu's (at a much different age) if you look at the roots. Situations & power differ greatly, but both were forced into roles because society had its expectations.

The show writers really got me thinking that Mizu & Taigen will end up together in someway though, with the whole wrestling scene at the forge in the last (or second to last) episode. My whole ship has set sail lol
