Will stream only be enough if a casual gamer?

Hey all. I'm a very casual gamer, brought up on Xbox & 360 but stopped 15yrs ago or so. Have recently got back in playing some games with my kids and have managed to sneak in an hour or so a week of late replaying my 360 games (primarily Halo 1-4).

Given how expensive EVERYTHING in life is, I've decided that a 2nd hand Series X isn't much more expensive than an evening out with the family, so got close to buying... But reading up on gamepass has thrown a spanner in the works.

Although I'd like the better graphics of a console, being able to stream to my TV & effectively only buy a controller & essential or premium gamepass seems a decent alternative.

I basically want to play Halo 5, infinite & Campaign Evolved etc. when it lands, probably a few CoD & family games on top. So any thoughts on what's the best way forward? Console only, console + essential GP, GP+stream? Am I missing anything?

Need some experienced advice...

Cheers
