I’m a transfer student getting closer to BS in Accounting with WGU (after an 18-year break, kids/life happened). I like it a lot and will definitely consider jumping into MS next. CPA is my ultimate goal.

How achievable is it? Did you have any success after graduating from WGU? Did you feel well prepared? Or did you need additional resources (which)? How many attempts?

Any tips/stories will be much appreciated!

I’ve had two very successful OAs - D388 Spreadsheets and D102 Financial Accounting. Hopefully I don’t jinx myself here, but I really wanted to share how to do this with minimal stress:

After realizing none of my rooms have a way of getting rid of/covering all visual clutter/screens or have too many doors/walls (I’ve read the horror proctor stories…), I decided it’s either my local library room rental or my bathroom.

Bathroom it is! It’s empty enough, my back faces the door, i use my small coffee table and any chair, and I close the door so not even my dog gets in. Voila! After submitting every wall/under desk/workplace area photo, I have not been asked to show anything else with my camera at all.

My sink counter is just the right height for the gooseneck camera (after some neck adjustments) to show me, my hands, laptop and mouse in one frame. Practice this ahead of time to know your ideal placement. I had to move my table around with proctor’s requests. That was the only ask, no other issues.

I tested when no one else was at home. I told my family to be quiet coming in if they get home before I’m done. I read about voices/lights behind the door causing proctoring issues.

I did not use a calculator. I used my whiteboard and even the Excel sheet to do my math for the questions. I erased any math I did there. Have a tissue/eraser ready to erase your whiteboard. Only a clear glass with water, an extra dry-erase marker (fine-point is best), and my ID beside me.

I had to write down the Excel key on my whiteboard both times as the copy/paste cannot and will not work there. Don’t waste your time trying to paste it. Just type it in.

I passed both exams in 90 minutes. Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck!
