Is the Universe trying to tell me something?
Hello everyone! I’m not really sure if this group is the right place to pose this question, but I figured I’d ask. Also warning this may be a little long so read at your own discretion.
Ever since I was young I’ve felt a very strong tie to the universe and which has lead me to become very spiritual. About 8 months ago be and my bf broke up even though I felt and still feel as though he is the love of my life. The day after the break up I was out to lunch with my family and the restaurant kept playing songs about couples getting back together, songs that me and him would always listen to together, and even the song that we said we wanted for our first dance at our wedding, Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. If it stopped at just this I would assume it might be a coincidence, but it didn’t.
Since I still am in love with him I began to ask the Universe for to show me certain signs of we were going to get back together; in my mind I would say something along the lines of “If me and (ex bf) are going to get back together show me (certain obscure object or animal) by 12 o’clock today”. I made sure to never say any of them out loud so that my phone wouldn’t hear and then adjust my algorithm to show me that. Every single time I did this I would be show the object or animal that I asked within an hour. I did this numerous times across many months and this still remained true.
I also see his name everywhere I go whether that be his full name or just his last name. It’s also important to know that he has the same name as a certain dog breed that isn’t that common, but now I am also seeing that breed of dog everywhere I go. My neighbors at my college had this type of dog and now my neighbors back home also just got a puppy of this breed right when I moved back. I see this dog in every commercial and just walking on the streets randomly or popping up on my TikTok.
My ex also loved to listen to 80’s music such as Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Jamiroquai, the Cocteau Twins etc. Every single time I’m out at a public place one or multiple of those artists will be playing or Unchained Melody will be playing. I know these aren’t necessarily the most underground artists or songs by any means, but I have never heard any of these artists or songs play before in my life before dating him.
The craziest one of all is I will meet random people, miles away from where him and I live and they will somehow know him. I recently was at one of my friends colleges visiting and while at a frat this random guy came up and started talking to me. Come to find out he lives in the town right next to my ex, works in the restaurant right next to his, has the same major as him, would go to all of the beaches that me and my ex would go to including the private ones we’d sneak on to, briefly went to the community college that my ex goes to and his friends are in a jujitsu class WITH my ex. Keep in mind the place that I met this random kid is 3 hours away from the town we live in and there are also 50,000 students at this college so out of all of them, he was the one that came up to me.
Am I reading into this situation too much? I can understand how some things can be a coincidence, however all of this stuff happening consistently since we broke up just seems crazy and it feels like the universe is trying to tell me something, but I’d love to hear anybody else’s opinions!
