I want a 13 pro mostly for the build quality, touch screen, and battery life, but theyre now shipping in september (classes start august). So my current ideas are

1. preorder 13 pro and get a laptop off ebay (e.g. thinkpad, latitude) for $200-$300 to hold me over
2. buy a regular 13 now and ship of theseus it into a pro when parts are available (though likely waiting until the next, or next next, main board is out to upgrade that)

from that, my main questions are: how much do the new ultra 3/lpcamm boards improve battery life? and what would yall guess the cost difference between those options to be (considering resell value, if that’s at all possible to infer)?

p.s. chem student, ideally looking to daily drive qubes os (if not, manjaro) doing mainly web tasks, light gaming, and coding; in any case i would get 16gb of ram and look to upgrade to 32 once (🙏) rampocalypse is over
