Hi, I’ve been trying to write a fanfic and have been having trouble with descriptions for each scene, like adding facial expressions and body language. I don’t have a problem when an author doesn’t add very much because the fic usually plays out in my head and I create different body language for each character on my own but I’m struggling with whether I should add it to my fic or let the readers just imagine it however they want

If I do add body language for each character and scene, I worry it would be too cold, clinical, or too much of an info dump, and would ruin the immersion a bit if it’s not good enough.

So any thoughts whether body language/facial expressions matter in a fanfic?
