Can anyone share their set up for starting seeds? In particular this time of year for growing autumnal and winter vegetables?

Are you starting them inside with lights? Or outside?

I have a reasonable amount of outdoor space with great amounts of light, and would much rather start them outside, but I do understand that I need to protect them when the seedlings are quite young.
