So I am a current high school senior planning on attending Mississippi State University for meche this upcoming fall. I chose meche for job flexibility, but plan to work in the aerospace/defense sector anyways. Is it common for mechanical engineers to land comparable salaried jobs next to aes in the aerospace/defense sector? Or should I major in aerospace to maximize pay? I also plan on doing atleast two internships throughout uni, so is it common for a student in meche to land an internship at a defense or aerospace giant? Or does majoring in ae give you a higher chance of landing those? I’d really appreciate some advice.

Got accepted into this a while ago and am curious if anyone here participated in it/a similar summer event.
If anyone has any ideas on how difficult summer programs usually are, or what life is like living on campus during the summer it’d be much appreciated. Thanks all
