All about NWAC BOARD
A lot of people have been asking about NWAC, so I’m making this post because last year I had almost zero information and wasted a ridiculous amount of time talking to random people, counsellors, agents, etc.
NWAC (Northwest Accreditation Commission) is a foreign board, similar to international boards like Cambridge. In India, it’s brought through SERI India. You honestly don’t need to overcomplicate it or overthink every small detail. The main thing you should know is:
YES, BITS accepts NWAC.
I was in the exact same situation last year — scared of spending so much money and constantly thinking “what if BITS doesn’t accept it?” But yes, they do. I even talked to a senior from BITS Hyderabad who got in through the NWAC board itself.
Now about AIU — many colleges ask for an AIU equivalence certificate for foreign boards. If BITS asks for it, don’t panic. You can get it within around a week through the counsellor/coordinator. It’s not some impossible process.
Examination Details
- NWAC conducts exams around 3–4 times a year
- The next examination starts from 16th June
- Results usually come pretty fast — last year I gave the June exams and got my result in the first week of July (I got mine on 3rd July)
- The syllabus is basically similar to normal Class 12 CBSE-level syllabus
- Exam centres are allotted near your address/location
For people worrying about having 2 marksheets (CBSE + NWAC):
It’s completely fine. It does not create any issue.
Fees
This year the total cost for registration, examination, and result processing is around 90k. Last year it was around 85k for me, but they increased the fees this year.
Once you register, they’ll provide:
- syllabus
- datesheet
- examination details
Also, one important thing:
A lot of random agents/counsellors quote insane prices like 1 lakh–1.5 lakh+ for NWAC. Please be careful.
For people especially from North India (UP/Delhi NCR), you can DM me aur log bhi krdena meko dm you all can contact him prollly he can help youfor your region as well. I can share the contact details of the principal/coordinator who handled my registration and examination process. The guy was genuine and legit, which is why I’m recommending him.
That’s pretty much all the important information you need. Don’t waste weeks overthinking like I did.
Good luck everyone.
And bas ek prayer kar dena ki mera BITS ho jaye this year 🤞
