I (28F) have 5 years of experience as a paralegal (70k salary) and I also have a 3 year old son that I coparent with my ex. I want to become an attorney to improve my and my son’s lives. We have multiple attorneys at the firm (midsized firm) that started off working as paralegals. Our attorneys start at 100k right out of school but they get 20k annual raises. So I would be making 200k 5 years out of school. I have a bachelors degree in sociology and graduated magna cum laude so as long as I ace the LSAT getting into law school shouldn’t be a problem. I will also be working full time and going to law school full time which is a lot to handle especially with a young child.
