April 2025: Went on admin leave

11/26/25: Certified paperwork in ORA

11/26/25: Paperwork moved to NFC

12/31/25: Last day on payroll

2/17/26: AL lump sum received

3/27/26: OPM received paperwork from NFC

4/8/26: First interim payment received (for Jan-Mar)

4/24/26: Received notification of case finalization

4/27/26: Digital booklet available

I got my digital booklet this morning, and the federal income tax withheld each month is $661 more than in the estimate. I’m unsure how to figure out why.

I went to the Federal Tax Withholdings page in the Retirement Services site, and there is $115,000 in “Total Income Credits Amount.” I don’t know where this number came from, but it seems to be what’s being used to calculate the $887 tax withheld.

Does that amount sound high for a gross monthly annuity of $4714?
